Cookie Policy

1. What Are Cookies

Cookies are small text files stored on your device when you visit a website. They help websites remember your preferences and understand how you interact with content. Sleep Bible uses cookies and similar technologies to provide, protect, and improve our service.

2. Categories of Cookies We Use

Essential Cookies

Required for the website to function. These include authentication session cookies (Firebase Auth), security tokens, and cookie consent preferences. You cannot disable these without affecting core functionality.

Analytics Cookies

We use Google Analytics 4 (GA4) to understand how visitors interact with our marketing pages. These cookies collect anonymous usage data including pages visited, time spent, and traffic sources. Analytics cookies are loaded only after you consent.

Functional Cookies

These remember your preferences such as theme settings, language, and playback preferences. They enhance your experience but are not strictly necessary.

3. Specific Cookies

CookiePurposeDuration
sb-cookie-consent (local storage, not a cookie)Stores your cookie/analytics consent preferenceUntil cleared
Firebase AuthAuthentication session managementSession
_ga, _ga_*Google Analytics 4 - anonymous usage tracking2 years
__stripe_midPaddle/Stripe fraud prevention during checkout1 year

4. Third-Party Cookies

The following third-party services may set cookies when you use Sleep Bible:

  • Google Analytics - website usage analytics
  • Firebase - authentication and app functionality
  • Paddle - payment processing (during checkout only)
  • Sentry - error tracking and performance monitoring

In addition, optional Vercel Analytics and Vercel Speed Insights can run on our hosting platform. They are cookieless, but they do process request data: URL path, IP/User-Agent-derived signals, and Web Vitals timings. They run only after you accept optional analytics consent. Sensitive route identifiers (for example Firebase user IDs in share links or session IDs) are tokenized before the event leaves your browser, and query strings are stripped. They do not track you across other sites. When you withdraw consent, we stop new collection in your current session as completely as the SDK allows (Analytics mode is set to development, the Speed Insights queue function is replaced with a no-op, and the injected script tags are removed); a page refresh after withdrawal fully unloads any remaining script code.

5. How to Manage Cookies

You can manage your cookie preferences through the cookie consent banner that appears when you first visit our website. You can also control cookies through your browser settings:

  • Chrome: Settings → Privacy and Security → Cookies
  • Safari: Preferences → Privacy → Manage Website Data
  • Firefox: Settings → Privacy & Security → Cookies
  • Edge: Settings → Cookies and Site Permissions

Note: Disabling essential cookies may prevent you from using certain features of Sleep Bible, including logging in and managing your subscription.

6. Updates to This Policy

We may update this Cookie Policy from time to time. Changes will be posted on this page with an updated “Last updated” date.
